How this illustration works
- Monthly amount drawn from savings equals entered essential expenses minus entered other income, with a floor of zero.
- Illustrated runway equals accessible savings divided by that monthly draw. When the draw is zero, the tool says so instead of displaying an infinite number.
- The sensitivity table changes expenses by 10% in either direction while leaving the other inputs unchanged.
- Expenses and other income are held constant. Interest, inflation, taxes, timing within a month, changing circumstances, and account access rules are not modelled.
- All calculations happen in your browser. Inputs are not stored, transmitted, or logged.
